LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After suffering their first Gulf South Conference series loss of the season against Lee this past weekend, the West Alabama Tigers baseball saw movement across all three major national polls.
West Alabama dropped to No. 10 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Poll, fell to No. 11 in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Coaches Poll, and landed at No. 14 in the D2 Baseball National Rankings.
Despite the dip in rankings, the Tigers continue to establish themselves as one of the premier pitching staffs in all of Division II baseball.
West Alabama currently ranks 2nd in Division II in ERA (3.56), 9th in hits allowed per nine innings (8.09), & 8th in WHIP (1.31).
The consistency on the mound has been a defining strength all season, helping the Tigers remain among the nation's elite even as they navigate late-season challenges.
With postseason positioning still in play and the GSC race tightening, West Alabama will look to quickly regroup and translate its dominant pitching into a strong finish heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
