ORANGE PARK, Fla. –
Wesley Etheredge carded his single round season low of 76 and
Brannon O'Pry combined with 239 to lead the University of West Alabama men's golf in the final day of the Lincoln Memorial University Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Orange Park on Tuesday. The Tigers finished in 10
th place, while O'Pry placed 31
st overall.
Nationally ranked No. 5 West Georgia continued its lead of the 11 team field through the third round with 291. UWG totaled 31-over 895 to win the tournament. Host school Lincoln Memorial placed second with 907, followed by Young Harris College with 915.West Alabama totaled 969 through the tournament.
"Today was hard with steady rain all day," said UWA head coach
Adam Buie. "This was a new course and event for us. The greens were brand new and very firm. Similar to the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2. When top college teams shoot what was shot this week, it proves how tough the conditions were. We will be better for it after learning this week."
Etheredge led the day for UWA, finishing 42
nd with 246 overall. O'Pry shot 82 on the day to maintain his lead of the Tiger group.
Lee Lann finished second for the team with a combined 242, having shot 79 in the final round.
Chance Caylor totaled 249, while
Harris Stevens tallied 252.

th in the Battle for the Ridge hosted by Christian Brothers University at the Qual Ridge Country Club in Bartlett, Tenn.
