LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama men's and women's tennis teams picked up Gulf South Conference victories over Alabama-Huntsville on a cold and windy Tuesday afternoon at the Vaughn Tennis Complex.
The UWA men defeated the UAH Chargers, 7-2, improving its record to 7-2 overall, 3-2 in GSC play. The West Alabama women defeated the Lady Chargers, 8-1, improving to 7-3 and 3-2.

Anton Ivanov,
Kike Ruiz, and
Simon Bardell won singles matches for the men. The doubles teams of Ivanov/
Adam Drysdale and Vargas/Ruiz won 8-5, 8-1, respectively.
Natalia Cardenas,
Jill Furlong,
Dasha Popova,
Shannon McEvoy, and
Emily Gerding were singles winners for the West Alabama women. UWA won all three women's doubles matches with Furlong/Cardenas,
Helga Jeske/McEvoy, and Popova/Gerding winning, 8-2, 8-1, and 8-6, respectively.
West Alabama travels to Mississippi College Thursday.
