Tigers Break into AFCA Top 25 Poll

After beating then ninth-ranked Delta State on the road, the University of West Alabama has broken into the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 Football Poll for the first time this season. The Tigers are holding down the No. 23 spot.
 
UWA (5-1) is one of three Gulf South Conference teams in the top 25. Delta State (5-1), whom the Tigers defeated 29-26 last Saturday, is ranked 21st and West Georgia (5-1) is at No. 22.
 
The Tigers have now beaten two AFCA top 10 teams on the road, Delta State and then No. 10 North Alabama.
 
Northwest Missouri State (6-0) holds down the top spot, followed by Shepherd (5-0), Indiana (Pa.) (6-0), Minnesota State (6-0) and Indianapolis (6-0) to round out the top five. The view the complete poll go HERE.
 
West Alabama is host to No. 22 West Georgia this Saturday at Tiger Stadium. The Wolves and the Tigers kick off at 4 p.m.
