LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Football Program added Max Arnold Jr. to their staff as the team's new Special Teams Coordinator.
Arnold Jr. brings a wealth of football experience to Livingston as both a coach and a player. With 10 years of coaching experience and five years as a collegiate player for the Tennessee Volunteers, Arnold Jr. is ready to leave his mark on West Alabama's football program.
Before making his way to the Tigers, Arnold Jr. served on Middle Tennessee's staff for the last two years as the program's Co-Special Team Coordinator. Before his tenure at Middle Tennessee State, Arnold Jr. also held coaching by positions at Grace Christian Academy, Tennessee, Jacksonville State, UAB, and Louisiana.
While at Middle Tennessee State, Arnold Jr. helped the Blue Raiders to the No. 22 ranking in the country and the No. 8 Special Teams Unit in the nation. Under Arnold Jr.'s tutelage, Brody Butler was named First Team All-Conference as a long snapper while Omari Kelly was named Second Team as a punt returner.
As the Graduate Assistant at Louisiana, Arnold Jr. helped the Raging Cajuns to the No. 1 ranking in the SBC in Kickoff Return defense, net punting, and punt return defense.
Arnold Jr.'s winning ways followed to UAB as the Blazers won the Conference USA Championship in 2020 with the Special Teams Analyst on staff. Also in that year, UAB ranked second in the conference in net punting.
The Tigers' new Special Teams Coordinator is already on campus and is set to coach West Alabama through the Spring.
