Tigers Add Transfer Offensive Lineman

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Offensive lineman Mike Faulkner will transfer from James Madison University to West Alabama to finish his collegiate football career. Faulkner will enter the Tiger program as a junior.
 
At 6-foot-4 and 265-pounds, Faulkner played in nine games at JMU over the last two seasons after redshirting in 2016.
 
He is the ninth player to sign mid-year with West Alabama and the first offensive lineman. The Tigers have also received signatures from three defensive linemen, a quarterback, running back, defensive back, linebacker and tight end. Seven are junior college transfers and two are coming from four-year programs.
 
Faulkner, from Lawrenceville, Georgia, played at Collins Hill (Ga.) High School where he was a
Gwinnett Daily Post All-County selection as a senior. He helped the Eagles to the quarterfinals of GHSA 6A playoffs as a sophomore in 2013 and as a senior in 2015.
 
He was also named to the 2015 Gwinnett County All-Star Game and earned Touchdown Club of Gwinnett October 2015 Player of the Month. A two-sport athlete in high school, Faulkner also played basketball.
