Jordan Bennett Earns GSC Special Teams Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Alabama place kicker Jordan Bennett has been named Gulf South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers win at Limestone.

A senior from Tallahassee, Florida, Bennett nailed a 45-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Tigers to a 16-13 road win over the Saints. He also made two other field goals, one from 32 yards and one from 40 to help ensure the Tigers victory.

Bennett also blasted three of four kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks to leave Limestone with poor starting field position. He is 5-for-7 in field goal tries through four games this season.

Bennett and the Tigers play game two of a three-game road swing at North Greenville Saturday in Tigerville, South Carolina. The game is the GSC-TV on ESPN Game of the Week and will be carried on the ESPN3 platform. Kickoff is set for 7:04 p.m. EDT.
