Watts Now a Tiger

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Offensive lineman Kordell Watts has decided to continue his collegiate football career at the University of West Alabama, according to an announcement today by Tiger head coach Brett Gilliland.

At 6-foot-4 and 289-pounds, Watts originally signed with Tennessee-Martin out of Jones County (Miss.) Junior College but will finish his career at West Alabama. From Ellisville, Mississippi, Jones played his prep football at Vicksburg (Miss.) High School.

Watts helped anchor an offensive line at Jones County which posted a 10-2 record before ultimately winning the Mississippi Bowl and finishing fifth in the final NJCAA poll. He helped pave the way for All-American running back Kalyn Grandberry, who rushed for 1,289 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Bobcats averaged 171.3 yards rushing per game.

Watts and his Tiger teammates officially report for fall camp on Aug. 7 and begin practice on Aug. 9. The season opener for West Alabama is Sept. 7 at home against Limestone. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
