2020 UWA Football Schedule Features Six Home Games

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama's 2020 football season features six home games, kicked off by hosting a Thursday night game against Tusculum on Sept. 3.

The Tigers waste little time getting into Gulf South Conference play, hosting Florida Tech in week two on Saturday, Sept. 12. Other GSC teams coming to Tiger Stadium include defending national champion West Florida (Oct. 17), Delta State for a Halloween Homecoming on Oct. 31 and 2018 defending national champion Valdosta State on Nov. 7. Rounding out the home schedule is Miles College on Oct. 3.

Promotions surrounding home games include Family Day against Florida Tech, UWA Athletic Hall of Fame recognition against West Florida, Homecoming when Delta State visits and Preview Day for Valdosta State.

"We always love having more home games than being on the road," head coach Brett Gilliland said. "Tiger fans are some of the best in our conference and in all of Division II, so anytime we get to play in front of the home folks is exciting for us.

"It's both exciting and a challenge, but we have the opportunity to host the last two NCAA Division II national champions," Gilliland said. "I can't wait to see how our players respond that challenge."

Road trips for the Tigers include West Georgia (Sept. 19), North Greenville (Oct. 10), Mississippi College (Oct. 24) and Shorter to close the regular season (Nov. 14).

For the first time in several seasons West Alabama will enjoy an open date on Sept. 26.
