WEST ALABAMA
The Tigers are 16-5 overall and 9-4 in the Gulf South Conference coming off a pair of victories here in Livingston with a 72-63 win to complete the season sweep of Montevallo last Thursday followed with a 78-43 revenge victory over West Florida Saturday night. The Tigers are 4-2 away from Pruitt Hall Gymnasium this season.
 
ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE
The Chargers are 17-4 on the season and 9-4 in the GSC after splitting last week's games with a 66-64 win at Delta State Thursday and an upset loss to Mississippi College Saturday night 75-68 on the road. UAH is ranked 21st in the latest NABC poll and is receiving votes in the D2SIDA poll. The Chargers are 10-0 on Kelly Court in Spragins Hall this season.
 
LEE
The Flames are 16-4 on the season and 11-2 in the GSC sitting atop the conference standings entering the weekend. Lee won its only game of the week last Thursday with a 68-54 victory over Mississippi College on the road. The Flames have won three-straight with the last loss coming to UWA. Lee is 9-0 at home so far this season.
 
COACHES
Allen Sharpe is 100-68 (.595) in his sixth season at West Alabama, 376-165 (.695) in 18 seasons as a collegiate head coach. John Shulman is 17-4 (.810) in his first season at UAH, 162-150 (.519) in 10th season as a collegiate head coach. Bubba Smith is 58-47 (.552) in his 4th season at Lee, 250-202 (.553) as a collegiate head coach.

RUN IT BACK
This is the second matchups of the season for the Tigers against UAH and Lee. Both of the first games took place in Pruitt Hall Gym. Alabama Huntsville took a win against UWA on Jan. 16 by the score 65-61. West Alabama shot 37.5 percent from the floor in the loss while LaJuan Hardy led all scorers with 23 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the floor along with four assists, two rebounds and a block. Ricky Dunnaway notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Two days later, the Tigers defeated Lee 86-84 in overtime. Darron Johnson scored 18 points and Hardy scored 16 points and added nine assists and seven rebounds.
 
TOUGH ROAD AHEAD
UAH and Lee enter the weekend a combined 19-0 this season at home. These games will only be road contests seven and eight for UWA, so the Tigers will have to weather a storm to stay among the top teams in the conference standings when the weekend is over. 
 
STILL THE BEST DEFENSE
The West Alabama defense is still the best in NCAA Division II and the GSC in offensive points per game allowed at 57.4. Opponents have hit 39.6 percent of their shots against the Tigers which is sixth in Division II and leads the conference. 
 
NOT FAR BEHIND DEFENSIVELY
Alabama Huntsville is the second-best defense in the league with average of 64.3 points allowed and holding opponents to 40.4 percent on all shots from the floor. Meanwhile, Lee boasts the fourth best defensive unit in the league at 41.4 percent opponent shooting, but the unit is ranked sixth in the conference in points allowed per game at 69.4.
