Countdown to the DrawDown

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The countdown is on. Just a few days remain until the annual party of the year, the UWA Football Drawdown, happens Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Bell Conference Center on the University of West Alabama campus.
 
Online tickets are still available for $100. Should any tickets remain Saturday they will be sold at the door while they last. A ticket gets two people in for food and drinks and one DrawDown entry.
 
With Mitchell Signs and Big Mike's Steakhouse as title sponsors, the Annual DrawDown is the culmination of a Super Tiger Saturday at West Alabama, allowing Tiger fans an opportunity to win $5,000.
 
The annual Red-White Spring Football Game kicks off the day at 10:30 a.m. at Tiger Stadium. West Alabama softball and baseball both host doubleheaders against Delta State on Saturday, with softball beginning at 1 p.m. and baseball at 2 p.m.
 
There is no admission charge for the spring football game. Admission to UWA softball and baseball games is $5.
 
"The DrawDown has proven to be an event you do not want to miss, a great time to be had by all," UWA head football coach Brett Gilliland said. "A great party is planned that will include giving away numerous door prizes and culminate with the owner of the last ticket drawn winning $5,000."
 
You don't have to be present to win and you are allowed to give your proxy to someone at the event to make decisions on your behalf.  
 
"There is also be a silent auction during the event with great items everyone will want to bid on," Gilliland said. "There are a limited number of tickets, so don't miss out."
 
The catering will be handled by Big Mike's and there will be live music from former Tiger football player Austin Bishop, whose debut EP "That's What Made Us" was released in April 2019 by Nashville's 3rd Lion Productions.
 
In addition to Mitchell Signs and Big Mikes as title sponsors, the DrawDown is also sponsored by York Ice, Holiday Cleaners, Batter Up, Lightfoot Law, All State (Namon Collins), West Alabama Bank, Inspired Technologies, Coors Light, Steve and Gayle Campora, Livingston Drug, Alfa (Grant Linder), Legacy Hospice, Lakewood Properties, and York Drug Home Medical Supplies and Equipment.
 
Souvenir caps to commemorate the day will be on sale for $25 while supplies last at the Red-White Game and the DrawDown.
 
UWA Campus School will provide childcare for children ages 6 weeks old to 12 years old during the DrawDown. The cost is $25 per child and includes pizza, drinks & snacks.
