ITA Releases National Singles and Doubles Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has released the Division II National Singles and Doubles Rankings and West Alabama has four players ranked in doubles and two players ranked in singles.

In women's doubles, Haina Franco and Katia De La Garza are ranked fourth in the country.

In men's doubles, Ilari Vesanen and Lucas Hammond are ranked 24^th in the nation.

"Both teams had some great Fall results, and we are excited to get to work this spring. I feel Katia and Haina have the potential to be the number one doubles team in the country and on the men's side any combination of Lucas, Ilari, and Marcel can do the same thing," head tennis coach Jeff Beaman said.

Franco and Garza are ranked 22^nd and 24^th in singles play.

"With singles we have great players who did not make the rankings who have the talent to beat the top players in the country and both teams are very deep, so it comes down to them working hard over Christmas break and being ready for our very tough spring schedule," Beaman said.
