BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – In week three of fall football, senior running back Demetrius Battle was named Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, following West Alabama's 80-0 victory over North American University Thursday night.

The Birmingham, Ala. native recorded 10 carries for 170 rushing yards on the night for three touchdowns. One touchdown came on the end of a 67-yard run, his longest of the game.

Battle and the rest of the Tigers will be back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 25, when they travel to Clinton, Miss., to begin conference play. UWA will take on Mississippi College at 7 p.m. inside Robinson-Hale Stadium.
