Track and Field Results at UAB Spring Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Alabama track and field had a strong outing at the UAB Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday hosted by the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

"We had several bright spots this weekend with some pretty tough competition. I am pleased with the production this weekend and am ready to get back to the drawing board to prepare for the next meet," head track and field coach Kirby Patterson Walker said.

The team of Kaitlin Hill, Annaya Chelcy, Myflore Methelus, and Kaylen Johnson ran the women's 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.74 seconds which is a school record. The time gave the group a second-place finish.

Zavannah Brown, Jordan Conner, Alexis Sturdivant, and Savannah Williams placed second in the women's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:03.91.

Hill had a fourth-place finish in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.72 seconds. Brown placed third in 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.77.

On the men's side, Camrun Norman placed second in men's high jump, jumping 2.03 meters. Brayden Harris ran the men's 110-meter hurdles in 15.45 seconds which was good for third place.

James Woods placed third with a long jump of 6.59-meters.

Colby Golson placed fourth in men's discus and shot put, with a discus throw of 38.98-meters and a shot-put throw of 12.07-meters. Demetrius Jackson came in fourth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.82 seconds.
