Matthews Sisters Sign with UWA Rodeo

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama head rodeo coach Daniel Poole has announced the signing of barrel racers Taycie and Jaylie Matthews to the 2022-23 women's rodeo roster.
 
"Jaylie and Taycie are both fierce competitors who lay it all on the line every time they make a run," Poole said. "We believe they will be a great addition to our team,"
 
The sisters are from Wynne, Arkansas and are transfers from East Mississippi Community College. Jaylie has competed in three years and Taycie has competed in two years of college rodeo.
 
Jaylie, who is the older sister was the 2019-20 and 2021-22 Ozark Region Barrel Racing Champion, along with being the 2021 Reserve National Champion in barrel racing at the 2021 College National Finals Rodeo. Jaylie won the third round in barrel racing at the 2022 CNFR.
 
Taycie has qualified for CNFR two times in barrel racing and was the 2020-21 Ozark Region Barrel Racing Champion. Taycie was the Reserve National Champion in barrel racing at the 2022 CNFR.
 
The duo has won 21 barrel racing competitions in Ozark Region rodeos.
