Tigers Continuing to Receive Votes in AFCA Poll

WACO, Texas – For the second straight poll, the West Alabama football team is receiving votes in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll following the road win at Morehouse.

UWA added more votes this time around with seven, after opening the season with three in the preseason poll. The Tigers would be ranked 38th if the poll extended past the top-25.

Three Gulf South Conference teams are ranked inside the top-10 with Valdosta State leading the way coming in third. West Florida is seventh, followed by West Georgia in 10th.

The Tigers opened the season with a 24-16 road victory at Morehouse this past Saturday. UWA has now won seven straight games played away from Livingston and have won six straight season openers.

UWA will play their second straight road game this Saturday (Sep. 10) just up the road in Birmingham against Miles College starting at 6 p.m.
