Bendeck Joins Tennis Staff

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama's head tennis coach Jeff Beaman announced the addition of Jose Bendeck to the coaching staff. He will serve as a graduate assistant coach.

"Jose played for me at the University of Idaho, then went on to a good pro playing career," Beaman said. "He has coached at a very high level and will be a great addition to our already amazing coaching staff."
 
"He joins former UWA All-American Katia De La Garza, who started as a coach this fall, and Agustin Carrizo, who is in his second year with UWA," Beaman added. 
 
Bendeck graduated from the University of Idaho in 2014. He had the second most wins in singles play at Idaho in program history. He made the NCAA National Indoor Championship in doubles. He was named 2014 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Year, 2014 First Team All-WAC, and 2014 First Team All-WAC in doubles. Bendeck served as a student assistant coach after he graduated.
 
Bendeck has a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of No. 1039. 
 
His main successes came in doubles. Bendeck won five titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour and reached a career-high ATP ranking of No. 481. He ranked as high as No. 99 in ITF Pro Tour doubles.
 
Bendeck has been on the ITF Player Panel that represents South America since 2020. The Player Panel acts as a bridge between the ITF and the players. 
 
"With our current players and staff, I am excited to see the great things we can accomplish this spring," Beaman said.
