Allen Named D2CCA All-South Region Second Team

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball forward Shardarrion Allen was named to the 2023 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region Second Team. The teams were voted on by the sports information directors in the south region. 
 
Allen averaged 13.9 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game. Allen recorded three double-doubles this season. 
 
The Bolton, Mississippi native scored a season-high of 24 points against West Georgia on Feb. 11. He grabbed a season-high of 13 rebounds against Auburn Montgomery on Jan. 18. 
 
During his time as a Tiger, Allen played in 78 games and made 73 starts. He has accumulated 1,050 points, 456 rebounds, 144 assists, 100 steals, and 34 blocks during his three seasons at UWA. 
 
The senior forward collected multiple accolades during his time at UWA. He was named 2023 First Team All-GSC, Second Team All-GSC in 2022, and First Team All-GSC West Division in 2021.
 
Allen and the Tigers were named the 2023 GSC Regular Season Co-Champions and 2023 GSC Tournament Champions. He was also on the 2022 GSC Regular Season Championship team.
