Track and Field Concludes Berry Field Day Invitational with Strong Performances

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – West Alabama men's and women's track and field teams had standout performances at the Berry Field Day Invitational Friday and Saturday at Clark Track and Dickey Field.

Kaitlin Hill had an impressive performance on the track, placing first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.52. Mikia Hutchings finished third in the 100-meter dash and crossed the line at 12.11.

Five Tigers competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in the top ten. Hill walked away with first place, stopping the clock at 24.08. Annaya Chelcy crossed the line at 24.76, finishing third.

Isila Apkup finished fourth with a time of 25.06. Hutchings finished sixth with a time of 25.54. Mikeibra Morris crossed the line at 25.94 finishing ninth.

Apkup placed second in the 400-meter dash and stopped the clock at 57.59. Morris finished third with a time of 59.55. Jailah Swain finished sixth, stopping the clock at 1:00.58.

Hill, Hutchings, Chelcy, and Apkup picked up a first-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.33.

On the men's side, Lawrence Walker picked up two top-ten finishes. He finished fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75 and placed second in the 200-meter dash, coming in at 21.83.

Two Tigers competed in the 400-meter dash. Reed Robinson finished ninth, stopping the clock at 53.09. Donovan Dixon crossed the line at 54.47, finishing in 12th.

Dancan Kibet dominated in the 3000-meter steeple with a time of 10:05.48, walking away with a first-place finish.

Audrick Pyronneau finished second in the 5000-meter run, crossing the line with a time of 15:17.99.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday as they compete in the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
