LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Volleyball team (1-12, 0-4 GSC) will host Trevecca Nazarene (6-9, 3-1 GSC) in a Gulf South Conference match on Friday at 6 p.m. at Pruitt Hall.
West Alabama is looking to bounce back from a challenging season start, while Trevecca Nazarene comes in strong, currently holding a winning record in conference play.
UWA, led by sophomore outside hitter
Jaida Alvin, who has 82 kills on the season, will aim to sharpen their offensive performance after posting a .019 hitting percentage so far. Sophomore
Peyton Quesnel and freshman
Taylor Lamontagne also continue to contribute, with Quesnel recording 51 kills and Lamontagne leading with 169 assists and 10 service aces. Defensively,
Maggie Roddam has been crucial, leading the Tigers with 105 digs.
Trevecca Nazarene, on the other hand, boasts a .189 hitting percentage, led by Emma Titus, who has 148 kills and 114 digs. Maddie Wilds anchors their defense with 176 digs, while Mackenzie O'Loughlin controls the net with 58 blocks.
Both teams have struggled with service errors, but the Trojans holds a slight edge in blocks per set (2.5) compared to West Alabama's 1.3. West Alabama will need to tighten up defensively and limit their errors to stay competitive.
As the Tigers prepare for this matchup, the focus will be on building team chemistry and fostering a resilient mindset.
