Football Moves Up to No.15 in AFCA Coaches Poll

LIVINGSTON, Ala - Even while being idle this weekend, the University of West Alabama Football team moved up to No. 15 in this week's AFCA Coaches Poll on Monday.

The Tigers were slated to face off against No. 3 Valdosta State in a highly anticipated GSC matchup this past Saturday, but the game was canceled due to weather.

Alongside West Alabama in the rankings are fellow GSC teams in No. 20 Delta State and No. 3 Valdosta State.

Even with their unexpected Bye Week this past weekend, UWA still ranks in the top-10 nationally in a multitude of defensive categories, including Defensive Touchdowns, Turnovers gained, and Passes Intercepted, while leading the country in Red Zone Offense, scoring on all of their red zone trips so far this year.

Now a top-15 team in the country, the Tigers return home for a 2:00 p.m. GSC contest against Erskine on Hall of Fame Weekend this Saturday.
