LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Football's JT Hooten was named the GSC's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after another standout performance on Saturday.
In UWA's hard fought 23-16 loss to No. 3 West Florida, Hooten recorded a game-high 14 total tackles along with 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks. After this performance, Hooten leads the Tigers in tackles with 51 on the year, with his 8.5 tackles per game mark also leading the league.
In three of his last four games, the sophomore Linebacker has recorded nine or more tackles, including a career-high 17.0 tackle performance against Charleston.
Hooten and the Tigers will get back to work this weekend when they host Delta State on Homecoming Saturday with kickoff set for 2:00 p.m.
