LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its 2025 Academic All-District teams on Tuesday, and eight Tigers from the University of West Alabama soccer programs have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom and on the field.
For UWA men's soccer, Ronny Wakelin and Abdul Kamara earned Academic All-District honors. Wakelin posted an outstanding 3.9 GPA while majoring in Finance, pairing academic distinction with his on-field contributions. Kamara also earned the award with a strong 3.6 GPA as an Integrated Marketing Communications major.
On the women's side, six Tigers were named to the Academic All-District team: Lily Graham, Selis Demirci, Aileen Charles, Emily Callahan, Summer Fox, and Santanna O'Grady.
Lily Graham excelled with a 3.9 GPA in Sport Management. Selis Demirci, one of UWA's top attacking players this season, earned recognition with a 3.5 GPA in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS). Aileen Charles achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in Finance, making her one of the top academic performers in the conference. Emily Callahan compiled a strong 3.8 GPA in Elementary Education. Summer Fox recorded a 3.9 GPA in Athletic Training, continuing the program's long tradition of academic excellence. Santanna O'Grady rounded out the group with a 3.7 GPA in Exercise Science.
The CSC Academic All-District program honors student-athletes who excel academically while also making significant athletic contributions. With being one of the nation's top goal scorers, Demirci will now advance to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America consideration.
This year's selections highlight the continued commitment of UWA student-athletes to achieving excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
