LIVINGSTON, Ala. — After a competitive showing in Huntsville, the University of West Alabama (10-14, 5-11 GSC) looks to bounce back this weekend as the Tigers continue their road stretch with matches against Valdosta State and West Florida.
The Tigers showed grit in their midweek matchup against Alabama Huntsville, taking the third set 25-18 behind a 6-0 run fueled by a Klára Bobánová ace and front-row dominance from Gracie Pierscinski and Jazlyn Snow. Despite the late surge, UAH's balanced attack proved too much down the stretch.
West Alabama now turns its focus to Valdosta State (10-15, 9-7 GSC) on Friday, Nov. 7 in Valdosta, Ga. The Blazers enter the contest on a three-match losing streak, most recently falling to UAH on Nov. 1. Macy Brown led the way in that match with 17 kills, while Avery Mullins tallied 45 assists.
Following Friday's match, the Tigers will travel to Pensacola, Fla., to face West Florida (22-3, 15-1 GSC) on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Argonauts are coming off a dominant 3-0 sweep over Auburn Montgomery, led by Emily Breazeale with 11 kills and Gabi Moulton with 26 assists.
With postseason hopes still alive, West Alabama aims to close the regular season strong and gain momentum against two key Gulf South Conference opponents.
