LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Athletic Department has announced 18 new inductees into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society for the 2024-25 academic year.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who receive a varsity letter in their sport, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth term semester, and earn a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.
This year, Women's Soccer had the most inductees with six while Women's Basketball sits right behind with four. Softball and Tennis comes in with three selections while Baseball and Softball has two. Football/Track and Field rounds it out with one selection.Â
Since joining in 2011, 238Â West Alabama student-athletes have been selected to the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.Â
UWA is the Eta chapter of the State of Alabama in the honor society. Other schools that participate in the state include Auburn, Faulkner, UAB, Montevallo, Alabama Huntsville, Alabama State and Miles.
The Tigers serve as one of seven GSC schools that are a part of the Society, joining Alabama Huntsville, Christian Brothers, Delta State, Montevallo, Lee, and West Florida.
